Calm After the Storm

Went out of Fort Monroe today to see what was going on. Started off as a nice warm day with a slight breeze. Wind and current was weird as I was getting thrown about but nothing I couldn't manage. Decided to try the structure right off the launch....nothing but a tiny Black Sea Bass and a Spot.

Decided to go across the channel to the HRBT and see what was going on. I have a spot there that I always hit and produces fish. I threw a white swim mullet and got my first Red of the year....finally. Don't know why it took so long.

17.5" Red Drum

Ended up coming up with a 19.5" Flounder and I even got an estimated 17" Flounder that flopped his way off my lap.....I was so pissed!

Even the Oyster Toads decided to come out and play.

Ended up catching up with Doogie and fished with him for awhile. He came out with a 20" Red and on his last drift picked up a dink Flounder. Overall, it was a blast with wonderful weather. I stayed for about 5 hours total and left around 1800.
